Twitter GIF Downloader

Save animated GIFs from X posts — in the original quality X stores them.

X doesn't store GIFs as .gif files: every animated GIF on the platform is a short, silent MP4 video. SocialSaver's Twitter GIF downloader saves that original MP4 from the tweet link, so the animation keeps its full quality and plays in any gallery, video player or chat app.

How to Use the Twitter GIF Downloader

1

Find the GIF on X

Open the post with the animated GIF in the X app or on x.com. GIFs carry a small GIF label in the corner of the image.

2

Copy the post link

Tap Share › Copy link, or copy the address from your browser. The link points to the post itself and contains /status/ and a number.

3

Fetch and save

Paste the link above and tap Fetch. The GIF appears in the results as a short video; tap Download to save it as an MP4.
